Local readers, come on by… and buy!

This will be my first book signing event and I’d love to see my local readers—and would-be readers!—come on by for a chat. And a scribble. A scribble, because that ‘s what my signature looks like, but, hey, don’t judge.

There’s the signing event at Lakeville Books and Stationery, which happens to be my local(est) bookstore. Lakeville Books is at 63 State Street (also known as Route 7 next to the fire station) in Great Barrington, MA.

Saturday, September 12, 2026, from 1:00 pm -3 pm.

I’ve signed books before, but previously this might occur after one of my talks out of the dozen or so talks I’ve given. The topic of the talks? Well, this has evolved over time, but the catch is in the title: “The Future of Climate Change in the Berkshires.” The Steep Climes Quartet, the series I position as literary climate fiction, now has three out of the four books published, with Over Brooklyn Hills published this past June.

Kill Well takes place in 2026, Dear Josephine in 2029, and Over Brooklyn Hills in 2035. The final book, Farm to Me, takes place in 2047 and is on track to publish Spring 2027. The first three books will be available at Lakeville Books and, of course, at the signing.

The series is a near-future look at how regular people deal with climate change, with some nefarious plots on the national scene thrown in to reflect larger themes. When I say “regular people” I also mean Berkshire local, since the through characters of the series live and work in the Berkshires.
